Happy New Year! Las Vegas Real Estate buyers and sellers now have a new form and more due diligence that must be completed during a Las
Vegas real estate transaction!
Now, buyers and sellers must complete a “Seller’s Energy Consumption Evaluation Form” courtesy of the State of Nevada Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Authority. The form is mandatory HOWEVER there is a section on page 4 in the form that allows Las Vegas home buyers to waive their rights to the information if they so choose to waive their rights.
In a nutshell the following information should be provided completed by Las Vegas Sellers and/or Home Inspector:
- Age of Systems
- Energy Costs
- Energy Consumption
- Any Improvements
- Type of Lighting
- Energy Star Ratings
2011 will prove to be interesting with the form and my guess is that Las Vegas REO (aka foreclosure, bank owned) sellers will force Las Vegas home buyers to waive this form.

Renee – I think things like age of unit are good, but when it gets into cost I think it may give people a false sense. Like you I don't use my AC like everyone else I know. I'm curious how this will pan out.
